A group of old Jewish comedians was vacationing at the beach when they saw a rip current carry a young boy out through the surf.
As if by instinct, a lifeguard sprinted down the beach to the water. The lifeguard got into the water, swam to the boy, grabbed him, towed him to shore, and carried him up the beach to safety.
Also like instinct, each old man’s memory flashed to the old joke about the ingrate whose grandson was swept into the ocean and then rescued by a wave that God sent.
With only a millisecond to enjoy that memory, the old men yelled in unison to the lifeguard carrying the boy, “He had a hat!”
